Westwood Estate set to launch third phase

Westville's stylish new R800 million Westwood Estate, is causing quite a stir in the property market with buyers and investors wanting to be part of the well-located and convenient development. Regular travellers on the M13 and N2 will have noticed the area around Essex Terrace and 45th cutting transforming from overgrown alien bush to a bustling construction site.

With progress on the 30-ha estate well on track, phase three of the contemporary housing development will be launched on the weekend of August 25 and 26.

Lance Gore, of Spencer Gore Developments, said phase three consisted of 56 apartments, ranging in price from R495 000 for one-bedroom units to R1,3 million for three-bedroom units. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2008.

"Reinforcing the demand for reasonably priced, central and secure housing, the first and second phases of Westwood Estate were sold out within 48 hours," said Gore. "The demand for subsequent apartments is expected to be as enthusiastic."

Situated near 45th cutting, north of the M13 where it crosses the N2, the estate includes apartments, town houses and freestanding units - with a strong focus on secure communal living.

The first phase, consisting of 116 apartments, is scheduled for completion in November and the second phase, consisting of 147 apartments, is on track for completion in June 2008.

An added attraction is the modern Westwood Mall shopping centre which is fast taking shape on the southern border of the estate.
