Westville units a sell-out

Reinforcing the demand for reasonably priced, central and secure housing, the second phase of the R800 million Westwood Estate residential development in Westville sold out at the weekend.

Lance Gore, of Spencer Gore Developments, said buyers were so eager to secure one of the 147 apartments that when sales staff arrived on launch day, last Saturday, they were overwhelmed by people who had queued overnight.

"The first unit was sold to a 24-year-old man who had arrived around midnight to ensure he did not lose out. While we were expecting keen interest, we were amazed by the response to the second-phase." The 30ha estate, which will include apartments, townhouses, freestanding units and a shopping mall, offers a secure and stylish environment with a strong focus on community living and sustainable rehabilitation of wildlife in the area.

Situated near 45th Cutting, north of the M13 where it crosses the N2, Westwood Estate is positioned to boost the new wave of investor confidence in the established upmarket suburb of Westville.

Gore already has a substantial waiting list for phase three of the development, which is due for release later in the year. Construction of the second phase apartments is scheduled to begin in two months with occupancy expected in June next year.
