R800 million estate a sell-out
Phase three of Westville's smart new R800 million Westwood Estate was launched last month and, like previous phases, was sold out almost immediately.
Progress on the 30ha estate being developed by Spencer Gore Developments is well on track. "Phase three consisted of 56 apartments, ranging in price from R495 000 for one-bedroom units to R1.3 million for three-bedroom units, and completion is scheduled for the end of 2008," said Lance Gore of the development company.
"The first and second phases of Westwood Estate were sold out within 48 hours. The demand for subsequent apartments is expected to be as enthusiastic," he said.
The development has seen the area around Essex Terrace and 45th Cutting transforming from overgrown, alien bush to a bustling construction site. Westwood Estate includes apartments, town houses and freestanding units - with a strong focus on secure community living.
The first phase, consisting of 116 apartments, is scheduled for completion in November and the second phase, of 147 apartments, is on track for completion in June 2008. An added attraction is the new Westwood Mall shopping centre, taking shape south of the estate.
