Phase two of Westwood Estate set for this weekend
Following on from the launch of the weekend sell-out of the first phase of Westwood Estate in Westville last October it's full steam ahead with next weekend's launch (subs March 10) of the second phase consisting of 147 apartments priced from R400 000 to R1,2 million.
Central to the R800 million Spencer Gore development - which is situated north of the M13 where it crosses the N2 - is a commitment to upgrading Westville and boosting the local economy and community.
"A socio-economic impact study found that Westwood Estate will provide around 4 000 jobs in the construction phase and 1 400 permanent jobs," said developer Lance Gore.
"We will also make a significant investment in improving the surrounding infrastructure, with particular emphasis on the road system." In the pipeline are improvements to the existing road infrastructure with upgrades to the Essex Terrace/University Road intersection, which will be widened and signalized, as well as improvements to the Locksley interchange.
The developers have set aside a green conservation belt comprising nearly 11 ha of the 30 ha estate, which will see the regeneration of an indigenous woodland and the rehabilitation of wildlife in the area.
